Popularity Contest
The liberal left just loved to talk about approval ratings during the Bush administration. Remember them gloating about how the Bush administration was the most unpopular in history? Well, for all their talk, it appears team Obama isn’t faring so well by comparison.
According to a poll conducted by the Pew Research Center, Vice President Biden is less popular at this point in his term than Vice President Cheney was in July 2001, after his first six months in office. Only 51 percent of Americans view Biden favorably, whereas at the same point in his term, 58 percent of Americans had a positive view of Vice President Cheney.
The pollsters over at Pew also noted that Biden’s favorability has dropped an astonishing 12 points since his inauguration in January. Now that’s just astonishing!
Dazed & Confused
Now that it’s been a whole week since the Obama administration released the interrogation memos, you’d think they would have had enough time to fine-tune their message on whether or not they will support the prosecution of Bush officials. Let’s see what they came up with.

GIBBS: Like if you drive 85 miles an hour on your way home, I may think it’s against the law, but it’s not likely I’m going to be the one providing you a speeding ticket.
LIBERAL TRANSLATION: Although this isn’t going so well. Maybe being a traffic cop is my next gig?

False Promises
You may remember the struggling Florida woman who made a heartfelt plea to President Obama at a Florida town hall last February. At the time, the president promised to help the woman, Henrietta Hughes, after she described her situation.

HENRIETTA HUGHES, FLORIDA RESIDENT: We need urgent — the housing authority has a two-year waiting list, and we need something more than the vehicle and the pots to go to. We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom. Please help.
BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Well, I, listen — what’s your name? What’s your name?
HUGHES: It’s Henrietta Hughes.
OBAMA: OK, Miss Hughes, we’re going to do everything we can to help you, but there are a lot of people like you, and we’re going to do everything we can. All right? But the — I’ll have my staff talk to you after this — after the town hall.

Well, apparently despite all the resources at the president’s command, President Obama hasn’t done much to help Ms. Hughes. One news network is reporting that she continues to struggle, and although she was given a free home to live in temporarily, she remains jobless and is now on the verge of losing that home.
According to CNN, “Now Hughes says she feels time is running out. The home she lives in was donated by the wife of a Florida lawmaker… who has been trying to sell the vacant home. Once the house sells, Hughes will have to leave.”
Mr. President, if you can’t help Ms. Hughes, and you can’t help your own aunt and brother, how are we supposed to believe you can help the entire country?
Happy Earth Day!
Many in our country celebrated Earth Day on Wednesday, and our so-called “environmental-friendly” president took part in the festivities as well.
Exactly how did Mr. Obama honor the day? He hopped on Air Force One for a 900 mile flight to Iowa. And when he arrived, the president gave a speech lecturing those in attendance to reduce their dependence on oil.

OBAMA: We can remain the world’s leading importer of oil or we can become the world’s leading exporter of clean energy. We can allow climate change to wreck unnatural havoc across the landscape, or we can create jobs working to prevent its worst effects.

“Wreck” havoc? I think the teleprompter said “wreak,” Mr. President.
By the way, there’s a credible argument coming from a guy who, according to CBS newsman Mark Knoller, burned a total of 9,000 gallons of fuel that same day. And, that doesn’t even include his four Earth Day jaunts aboard Marine One which totaled about one hour and burnt a couple hundred gallons of fuel as well.
I’d say happy Earth Day, Mr. President, but I can barely catch my breath from all of your fossil fuel emissions.
